Award-winning artist The Weeknd is set to light up Australia with his first-ever stadium tour, part of his global After Hours Til Dawn Tour. Fans who missed out on his sold-out shows last year can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the Blinding Lights singer makes a much-anticipated return to Australia this October.
Live Nation broke the exciting news, confirming that the Grammy winner will perform in Melbourne and Sydney. This marks his first trip back to Australia since 2017. Originally scheduled for November and December 2023, the tour was abruptly postponed and then cancelled, leaving many fans heartbroken. But The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, hasn’t forgotten his Aussie supporters.
In a heartfelt press release, Tesfaye shared, “I feel a strong pull to perform in Australia before moving on to the next chapter and want to make sure you all know I hadn’t forgotten about you. When I return now, it will be the right time, and I promise it will be such a special experience.”
The tour kicks off with back-to-back shows at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on October 5 and 6, followed by performances at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on October 22 and 23. Supporting acts include Mike Dean, Chxrry22, and Sydney’s own Anna Lunoe, ensuring an unforgettable night for all attendees.
Tickets go on sale to past purchasers on August 21, with the general sale starting August 26 at TheWeeknd.com/Tour.
