The full trailer for the live-action film ‘A Boy Called Christmas’ promises Christmas magic and cheer this year, ahead of its November 25 release in Australian cinemas.

Based on the bestselling children’s novel of the same name by Matt Haig and directed by Gil Kenan (‘Monster House’), ‘A Boy Called Christmas’ follows a retelling of the origin story of Father Christmas – where a young Nikolas (played by Henry Lawfull) embarks on an extraordinary adventure up to the snowy North Pole in search of his father. In the meantime, his father is on a quest of his own to find the magical and mystical village of the elves, Elfhelm.

The rest of the cast is comprised of a slew of award-winning talent, such as Maggie Smith (‘Downtown Abbey’), Kristen Wiig (‘Bridesmaids’), Sally Hawkins (‘The Shape of Water’), Stephen Merchant (‘Logan’), Jim Broadbent (‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’), Toby Jones (‘Finding Neverland’), Michiel Huisman (‘Game of Thrones’), and Zoe Colletti (‘Annie’). With a headstrong reindeer, a trusty mouse sidekick, giant trolls, mountains, flickering candles, bears, truckloads of snow, witches, and a whole lot of heartwarming magic and hope – ‘A Boy Called Christmas’ looks like it could well and truly be a new holiday classic.
