Brisbane 'suspicious device' was harmless
An emergency declaration has been revoked in the northern Brisbane suburb of Sandgate after police investigated a suspicious device and found it to be inactive.
Police earlier created an exclusion zone around an area near Arthur Davis Park in the city's north under the Public Safety Preservation Act.
But just after 8pm AEST on Saturday, the powers were revoked with Queensland police saying the device was "deemed inactive and not harmful to the community".
Police have thanked the local community for their understanding.
