Peak Downs Hwy reopens following tragic double fatality
Two men have been killed in a multi-vehicle crash west of Moranbah.
Preliminary police information indicates that at around 1.30pm on Wednesday, a B-double and two utes collided on the Peak Downs Highway.
The male drivers of both utes, aged 61 and 39, were declared deceased at the scene.
The truck driver, a 32-year-old man, was airlifted to Mackay Base Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Peak Downs Highway remained closed well into the night.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Anyone with dashcam or further information is urged to contact police.
A police spokesperson says the Peak Downs Highway has since reopened with police leaving the scene.
