Two people hospitalised from snake bites

Mackay residents are being urged to stay vigilant for snakes, with two locals bitten in the space of 30 minutes.

Paramedics were called to a North Mackay home around 6.20pm Monday where a woman in her 30s had been struck by a snake.

Then around 6.45pm, a man in his 30s was bitten at a Hay Point home.

Both patients have been taken to Mackay Hospital in stable conditions.
