The local rescue helicopter has completed four missions over the weekend.
Early Saturday morning, the RACQ CQ helicopter was tasked to transport a patient from Bowen to Mackay Hospital.
Later the same day, they were called to airlift a critically ill man from a location near the showgrounds at Sarina.
The 27-year-old North Mackay man suffered a suspected drug overdose and was initially taken to Sarina Hospital, requiring emergency treatment by paramedics and the flight doctor.
He was then airlifted Mackay Base Hospital, at around 6.00pm, in a serious condition.
Later during Saturday night, a patient from Collinsville hospital was transported by helicopter to Mackay after suffering pelvic and spinal injuries after rolling a ute.
On Sunday morning the rescue helicopter was called to treat a woman who had been been seriously injured in a paddleboarding incident on Cockermouth Island.
The rescue helicopter landed on the beach, at around 11.30am.
The RACQ CQ crew assessed the woman who suffered a dislocated knee and then airlifted her to Mackay Hospital.
The RACQ CQ Rescue has already completed 141 missions so far this year.
