Police are investigating after the body of a man was found in a Mackay unit earlier this month.
67-year-old John Patrick Hackett was found by family members at his Gold Street unit at 7.18pm on Saturday, November 9, following a welfare check.
Police have launched a homicide investigation after receiving new information, including evidence from a post mortem examination which indicates evidence of an assault.

Officers say they would like to speak to anyone who may have seen an interaction or altercation between John Patrick Hackett and another person on the afternoon or evening of Tuesday November 5.
Anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage is being asked to contact police.
