A 22-year-old man has been charged after allegedly stealing two rural fire vehicles near Mackay.
Police allege on October 31, an Ilbilbie man broke into the Sarina Marlborough Rural Fire Brigade and stole a Nissan Patrol rural fire vehicle.
It’s further alleged he broke into the Victoria Plains Rural Fire Brigade on Saturday and stole an Isuzu NPS 3007 fire truck.
Officers found the Nissan Patrol in bushland at Sarina on Saturday.
On Sunday, the Isuzu was found at a Sarina Range property and officers say parts of the truck had been extensively damaged and the body had been painted with white house paint.
A 22-year-old has been charged with two counts each of break and enter premises, stealing of vehicle, unlawful use of motor vehicle, wilful damage and driving whilst licence suspended.
He has also been charged with one count each of evade police, possession of tainted property and possession of explosive (ammunition).
