An alleged speedster has been caught going 44 kilometres over the speed limit on the Bruce Highway.
Police pulled the 28-year-old over at Bakers Creek on Sunday afternoon after allegedly clocking him at 134km/h in a 90km/h zone.
The North Mackay man was served with an on the spot $1,780 fine and 8 demerit points.
His drivers licence will also be suspended for six months.
“Speed enforcement will never cease to be a priority on our roads,” says Senior Constable Steve Smith from the Mackay Crime Prevention Unit.
“Regardless of where ever you are travelling, you should expect to see police performing enforcement of this type.
“Respect your fellow motorists by respecting the speed limits.”
