A crocodile sighting has been reported at the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens.
The Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) is investigating a possible sighting in the lagoons at the gardens, with a warning sign put up over the weekend.
Lagoon visitors and pets should try to remain at least five metres from the water’s edge.

Any crocodile sightings should be reported to DETSI.
There have been nine crocodile sightings in Mackay so far this year.
