A man has been shot dead by police at a Bowen motel this morning.
Police and paramedics were called to a disturbance on Herbert Street around 5.30am
A man allegedly armed with a large knife threatened officers, before being shot.

Emergency services tried to revive the man but he died at the scene.
A crime scene has been declared and the Ethical Standards Command is investigating.
