It’s set to be another hot and humid day, with the Mackay region seeing some extreme temperatures around the Sugar Capital.

Mackay will reach a top of 35 degrees, while Proserpine and Sarina will be at 36, 38 in Carmila and a scorching 41 in Moranbah.

Meteorologist Patch Clapp says the humidity will make it feel even warmer.

“Broadly were seeing some hotter, drier air masses trying to push towards the coast, that hot, dry air and hot, moist air is seeing the run of storms and heat were seeing,” Mr Clapp said.

“We’re looking at 35 degrees at Mackay, up to 39 at Rockhampton and Gladstone up to 38 today, we’re seeing widespread above average temperatures,” he said.

“We’re seeing the warm temperatures push all the way to the coast, which is combined with some high humidity, it’s across a number of days and both maximum and minimum temperatures are above average – and the humidity is making the feels like conditions seem even warmer.”
