It’s time to make your move and join us for the 100km in July Facebook Challenge!
After the outstanding success of the inaugural 100km in July Challenge last year, Breast Cancer Trials is thrilled to announce its return in 2024. Breast Cancer Trials is one of the world’s leading breast cancer research organisations, dedicated to finding new and better treatments and prevention strategies for people affected by this horrible disease.
If you’re looking for mid-year motivation, lace up your sneakers and complete 100 km during the month of July to support and raise funds for their life-saving breast cancer research by running or walking your way to the finish line.
Breast cancer survivor Naomi participated in last year’s challenge and was one of the top fundraisers, raising over $3,500. Diagnosed with breast cancer at 40 years old, she is getting involved for a second year because too many loved ones are lost to this disease and the sad reality is that too many women in Naomi’s family have been devastated by breast cancer.
“I was just 40 years old when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Sadly, my family has been shattered by breast cancer for decades. My Grandmother was 52 and my Aunty was only 42 when they both tragically lost their lives to breast cancer.
My worst nightmare is for breast cancer to strike my three beautiful daughters. I never want this to be in their futures, and hopefully through research, we can make that a reality.
This is why I am passionate about supporting Breast Cancer Trials. I will be doing the 100km in July Challenge (for the second year!) to help bring hope to future generations. Devastation and loss can stop here!”
The challenge is being run through Facebook and, all participants who sign up and create a fundraising page will receive a welcome pack including a t-shirt and a daily kilometre tracker to help them keep track of their progress. Once you sign up, you’ll also receive an invitation to join the 100km Challenge Facebook group where you can connect with other challengers who’ll encourage you every step of the way.
The funds raised will support Breast Cancer Trials clinical trials research which plays a crucial role in tailoring personalised breast cancer trials for optimal long-term treatments and prevention, enhancing outcomes for metastatic breast cancer patients and finding breast cancer prevention measures for those that are at high-risk of developing breast cancer, with a central focus of preserving the quality of life of all patients.
Participating in this challenge presents a perfect opportunity to see a world where NO MORE lives are cut short by breast cancer. Breast Cancer Trials challenges you to complete the 100km in July Challenge to support research, raise awareness and be empowered about making a difference.
