A police officer from the Central Region has been charged with child sex offences.
The 50-year-old former senior sergeant has been charged with one count of possessing child exploitation material, and three counts of using a carriage service to access child exploitation material.
It’s alleged the incidents happened whilst he was off-duty.

He is due to reappear at Mackay Magistrates Court on June 19.
The officer was suspended from the Queensland Police Service, and subsequently resigned.
